Holt Wedding-St. Mary's Church

So the other day, I actually had a first...  I always tell everyone, that if you find a wedding vendor/venue you like, don't wait!  Well I had a couple email me about their wedding date.  I sent my normal introduction letter, along with my wedding packages and pricing.  Not even a full 10 minutes later I received an email from another couple looking for the exact same date.  Now I'm pretty much shocked, I've sold multiple weddings in the same day before, but never had two looking for the same day in the same hour before.  So I sent the second couple my introduction letter, package prices, etc. and explained I literally just had someone else inquiring about the same date.  The second couple booked their wedding immediately.  All before the first couple even opened my email.  So again, if you find that vendor that you have to have, don't wait! They may not  be available the next day!

When booking your wedding vendors/venues you will want to start looking as soon as you set the date!  I know your thinking... "well my date isn't for 2 years yet" I frequently have requests almost two years in advance, and start to get fairly booked about a year out.  And I know the same is true of other vendors I have worked with over the years!  Also with wedding Photography, you will want to have time to get your engagement photos done, and have your pictures for your save the dates/announcements ready to go.  With most photographers your looking at about two to three weeks turn around for your pictures after you have the sessions, so you will want to plan in advance.  Also if you want either those perfect springtime or fall shots you will want to have them done probably the year before your wedding date.

September is also the start of fall here in Minnesota, and is my absolute favorite season for engagement and wedding photography.  The leaves along the north shore start changing along the north shore of lake superior mid September and kind of move south throughout the month kind of ending the first week or two in October  in southern MN.
